LIFE INSURANCE
Life Insurance is usually a protection for the family of the Policy holder .
The insurance company is committed to pay an indemnification upon the death of an insured person . This commitment comes from the life insurance policy, a contract between the Insurer and the insured .
In some cases, the Insured events are not only death but the life insurance policies can also cover disabilities , personal accident or in case of a critical illness . Some other expenses ( legal advice or funeral ) according to the insurance policy, can be included in the cover. The insurance policy can also anticipate the expenses in case of a critical illness or similar ).
Not all cases of death are insured. There are some typical exclusions such as fraud, riot, war, suicide . There are two kind of life insurance policies:
– Term life insurance policies. Their main objective is protection, they will pay indemnification, usually as a lump sum in case of the insured event, usually death of the insured .
– Investment combined or not with life insurance so the capital can grow offering protection . The return on investment may be guaranteed according to the investment product of choice . This is not a liquid investment, since these products usually accumulate interest until the end of term ( a classical example may be the college or university studies ) or the insured event .
